Perceptions of Students About the Use of Plastination in Anatomy Lessons

Objective: This study was to examine the opinions of first year veterinary faculty students about use plastinated anatomic prosections in addition wet cadavers anatomy practical lessons. Materials and Methods: The were shown organs fixed formaldehyde. Then a questionnaire comprising 7 questions administered 100 student participants. responses analyzed statistically using SPSS vn. 22.0 Frequencies software. Results: In response question 1, 58.4% thought that there no difference between contrast strong smell formaldehyde, 88% stated plastinates odourless. improve quality education by 89.1% students, compared negative aspects It 84.2% should be included lessons due thoughts majority tissues could make greater contribution final question, 92.1% they felt abhorrence organs. Conclusion: Plastination may especially useful for educational institutions without access, space, or financial resources dissection, can emphasize unique pathological samples. results this demonstrated samples perceived as traditional teaching anatomy.
